John Kinyon
John Kinyon is a leading trainer of the Center for Nonviolent Communication (cnvc.org) and its international network, and a co-founder of the BayNVC organization (baynvc.org). John facilitates communication training and conflict resolution with individuals, groups, and organizations in settings ranging from workshops, presentations, and practice groups to coaching in personal and professional contexts.
John has a background in clinical psychology, and he has started three businesses. He also has a long study of spiritual practice and principles of nonviolence.
John has worked closely with NVC founder Marshall Rosenberg since 1998 and is regularly invited by Dr. Rosenberg to be a co-trainer with him at 9-day international intensive retreats. John is regularly invited to different parts of the U.S. and internationally to give NVC trainings and presentations. In 2002, he provided Nonviolent Communication training to Afghan tribal elders along the Pakistani border.
John's mission is to provide individuals and organizations with the consciousness and skills to resolve conflicts peacefully in a way that equally values the needs of all concerned. His vision is human beings relating from a paradigm of interconnectedness with each other and all life on our planet.
He lives with his wife and two children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
